At Grip-Tite Manufacturing, we know that every great foundation repair project starts with one key element — communication. Building trust with the homeowner is the first step toward identifying the real issue and providing a lasting solution.
“When you are out to look at a project, the most important thing is the communication with the homeowner first — to hear what is the concern for the reason they brought you out,” Corey said.
As the professional, your role is not only to assess but also to educate. Understanding whether the problem is settlement, a bowing wall, or a sagging floor starts with careful observation — and involving the homeowner in that process builds confidence and clarity.
“A lot of times they know something’s going on, but they don’t understand what,” Corey explained. “So, the more involved they can be, it allows them to ask questions and recognize what’s happening.”
Corey encourages hands-on collaboration during assessments, such as having homeowners assist with measurements.
“I would set up my laser, then ask the homeowner to use the tape to measure my line,” he said. “That allows them to see the settlement themselves and understand how significant it is.”
Ultimately, transparency and education lead to trust — and trust leads to success.
“Answer those questions of the homeowner first and then be good about explaining what you’re seeing as you’re going through the process. That’s success,” Corey emphasized.
At Grip-Tite, we believe informed homeowners and skilled installers make the strongest foundations — in structures and relationships alike.
