At Grip-Tite Manufacturing, clear communication with homeowners is just as important as the installation itself. Being upfront about what to expect during a project helps set realistic expectations and builds confidence in your team.
“When you’re visiting with a homeowner going through the process of the install, make sure that you’re telling them all the things that are going to happen,” Corey said.
Corey emphasizes honesty about the realities of the job, including noise, dust, and yard disruption, while reassuring homeowners that their property will be protected.
“Share that there is going to be a mess, but you’re going to clean it up,” he explained. “Make sure you explain that your install team will do everything they can to protect their property.”
He also recommends proactive planning with the homeowner: moving valuables, managing pets, and preparing for temporary inconveniences.
“If there’s things of value, ask the homeowner to move them. If there are pets, ask if they can be outside. Just prepare them for all the things that are going to happen,” Corey said.
Transparency goes hand in hand with cleanup and attention to detail.
“At the end, be sure that you spend the time to have your crews clean up well, make sure they don’t leave anything in the yard, and try to return it as close to the original as you can,” he added.
By setting clear expectations and following through with care, Grip-Tite installers ensure homeowners feel informed, respected, and confident from start to finish.
